variations on a moral

  1. a person awakes to an enjoyment of life

    troubled with mundane decisions,

the ability to assess and define past mistakes eludes them

in place of personal growth, they indulge in momentary pleasure,

knowing only a future of unapproachable change

  2. despite innumerable faults, one comes to with seamless ease

with a hesitation to simple choices,

    personal growth escapes them

and so they turn to hedonism,

accepting a fate of unmanageable order

  3. the protagonist enters the day to commonplace obstacles

    a lack of confidence in

    their character suffers

    they resign to everyday pleasures,

with a future of invariable change

  4. gaining consciousness in a recognizable environment

    feeling indecisive,

    growth stagnating with increasing faults,

    our protagonist lives presently,

    confused regarding the future
